Excerpt:

A light drizzle began to fall. I closed my eyes putting my face towards the raindrops. Today really did turn out to be such a good day. I loved summer rain. When we were kids, I was always the only one who insisted on playing in it. I would spin and spin in a circle laughing to myself till I was dizzy and fell over.
I opened my eyes to see Angel staring at me with a goofy smile. "Why you looking at me like that?"
"You always did love your rain showers. You use to beg Jay to play with you. He would never go outside when it rained and I always got stuck watching you when neither of our parents were home."
I tried to think back and couldn't recall Angel ever being there. I mean I could have completely ignored him since I was busy having too much fun by myself to notice.
"Angel, I don't ever remember you being there. I was always outside by myself."
"No you weren't, Love."
"Oh yea? Then what was I doing?"
Angel grabbed my arm and spun me around quickly and then dipped me. I started laughing. "You were either spinning till you fell over or you were dancing like no one was watching. But you always had this exact smile on your face, Love."
Angel
Having Jasmine in my arms smiling and laughing like this did very strange things to my insides. Seeing her happy and carefree and having fun, filled my chest with something I really didn't want to examine right now. I wasn't ready to dive into that pool yet, but I had a pretty good idea what it was and it scared the shit out of me.
There was something here between us, something potent. I wanted to be the one that put this smile and laughter in her eyes. Jasmine had me hard and desperate to be inside her but I was in control enough to not want to rush this moment with her either.
Today at the seaport had been perfect and now to hear her laugh in my arms made it even better. I only hoped, we'd get more of the days like today. And if today was the only good day we'd get, I'd take it. No amount of bad could ruin this day we shared.
Jasmine released my hand to cup my face. "I guess you really have always been there for me huh?"
I leaned in. I couldn't hold back, I needed to taste her. Jasmine meet me half way and our lips touched. The kiss was slow and I felt like I was re-learning the shape and taste of her mouth.
The sky picked that exact moment to open up and it started pouring. Jas broke the kiss first and I almost growled in frustration; I could kiss her forever.
